now that I recall, there was a guy on here a while back who destroyed three good cars trying complete such a crazy swap... first was a ls1, then was the 3000gt swap... last I remember ended sending all cars in for scrap.

save your money, tastefully mod your es, if you want more power get into another car.

if yur looking to engine swap follow darkmitsu's 4g64 swap out of an eclipse. better overall engine and if you put an evo head on it it will be a 2.4l stocker....

better route and easier to do

3000GT swap, yes probably.

4G64 swap, nah. Depending on how he does it, he'll be out probably anywhere from $1500 to $2000

Yup, just not the right "style" to fit a lancer...similar frame/mounts/tranny with a 4g64 so it's a much better candidate.

well that and just remember thes aren't honda's or subaru's where engine swapping is easy. yes the g64 is an easier swap than most things but its something that will rake some time.

Honestly, and I'm not trying to be rude, but if you knew that you haven't seen or heard anyone who had the swap why are you posting about it? In order to truly be the "first" person to do an engine swap you need to do your own thorough research. From the sounds of it, you haven't. Believe me, I've gone through the ins and outs to see if I want to keep this car, and I decided that I don't want it. You just need to keep it, and take care of it until you're ready for something new.

a v6 lancer is plausible, ive seen one back in my country but imo, its not worth it.
