Question CEL Light

When you change your header and the cel light comes on, does the computer make your car run rich or lean becuz of the O2 sensor readings are different? I seem to be using alot of gas lateley. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

My understanding is that the CEL only comes on with a header because it thinks the first cat is bad, so it wouldn't alter any of the input signals, just send a code that the cat is shot. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

^ you're right brian.. the only thing i could think of about your gas consumption would be your intake. did you install your cai at the same time or beforehand? because headers wont make you run rich or lean. when people usually have problems with their fuel, more often than not, its because of the intake. but all i can say is that headers will cause the car to burn more fuel than stock, but not as significant as to when people have problems with their intake.
