Should i?
Should i?
Should I dump my INJEN CAI and purchase the SW1 SRI? Lmk.
*I'm leaning towards the SRI.
What is CAI ideal for? (I heard it's better for distance driving. "You can push it harder on the highways"). TRUE?
---What is SRI ideal for?
*Plus, what would work better with a 4g69 throttle body upgrade?
K. Thanks!

There are probably threads about this already but I'll answer anyway.
Anyone feel free to correct me where I'm wrong or missing information.
+: Pros -:Cons
CAI:
+Colder air-charge into engine results in better combustion of the air\fuel mixture.
+Some say it generally produces a increase in higher RPM performance.
-The risk of hydro lock is an ever present danger even with a hydro shield.
SRI:
+Near engine air charge and shorter path to throttle-body, basically the theory is that because the intake filter is a shorter distance from the throttle-body, there is more mass air flow to the engine resulting in better combustion.
+No risk of hydro lock unless you plan on submerging your lancer.
-Some would argue that it is counterproductive to intake warmer air in a trade off for better mass air flow rates.
+In the lancer unless proven otherwise, I found it many time easier to install the SRI.
+/-:However way you take it, SRI's are considerably noisier than CAI's. Although some people like the sound.

The gains from CAIs and especially SRIs are so insignificant that buying one might as well be a waste of money, let alone buying one and then buying another one.
If you're worried about hydro lock buy the SRI or better yet just put the stock back on.
If you're looking for performance don't waste your time with intakes all together.
