Cold Air fit in Auto

Just curious, is there any way to make the AEM CAI fit in my 2002 auto lancer?
Dont think its possible, but i'd rather have a cold air than a sri.

i think all us auto's would, but i dont think there is a way

think of it this way though, if you ever go threw a puddle, you have a less greater chance of getting water sucked into your engine lol

people have done it...just have to do a little pipe bending to make it work right....or relocate your battery

c'mon guys search...

yes it will fit in a auto... if there's proof of anything fitting in an auto it would be vince with his turbo... all you need to do is relocate your battery and you have enuff space

it is not the battery that causes the CAI piping notto fit...it is the bulk of the auto tranny.
even though with the battery out you do have a lot more room.
i myself have a auto lancer and was working on a CAI.
you can make it fit but you need some custom bent piping to fit down below to work around the tranny...lucky for me i have a guy that will do custom piping for me.

heh...ill be cheap and spend the $20 on ebay instead of the $150ish for the Injen...same thing lol

wait..u might get an extra 2hp...but than ill just buy a K&N Filter and gain 3hp and be ahea by 1! HA!

i think the problem with a cold air intake....for the auto....u have to bend the piping...restricting air flow...which i think would cause u to lose the power u would of gained....so just buy a Short Ram...take some tubing and tube some cold air to ur intake lots of people do this all the time...urbanknight has, he relocated his battery to the trunk to get more tubing under there.

Once you relocate the battery, you can actually get a straighter piping for a CAI. Like Troie said, it's just a matter of getting piping made to take that route. Look at my pics of the air ducting and you'll se it's a straight shot from the left front bumper to the air filter. One thought, can't you twist the CAI piping from Injen or AEM so that it takes that route? It looks like that might work, but we'd need a CAI and an auto with the battery in the trunk to find out for sure.

AEM CAI

the reason its for 5 speeds is b.c of the pipe routing interference, you could bend you own pipes, wouldn't recomend it unless u know what ur doing - know ur ****.

ya i have a little short ram from www.racinglab.com for like 100$ shipped or something and its probably just as good as anything else out there. I also got this awesome filter with a custom heat shield from believe it or not Circuit City which by my house sells car parts now, pretty cool.
