2009 Lancer ES SRI intake?
2009 Lancer ES SRI intake?
I'm new to this site, and to be honest very new to working on cars in general. I have done some cosmetic things to my car but never any real performance upgrades. I was looking for an SRI for my lancer ES, I don't want a CAM. I don't want to worry about the whole water situation. To be honest I want it more for a deep sound over an actual performance upgrade. I was looking to spend around $200, I could go a little more but preferably not. Any ideas???
Sorry I am new

I have the same car as you and i put in an injen sri, lovin every minute of it too, costs about 350. It had that nice deep sound youre looking for, it doesnt have a shield of any kind, but im in alberta, lots of big puddles from snow melt off and i have had no issues, the tranny blocks it quite well

I have a K&N typhoon Short Ram Intake with a heat shield. The performance is there (feels a little quicker when accelerating) but the sound it makes is ballsy. Revving and accelerating are loud. at 3000 RPM it is very loud and throaty. If you want sound and some performance then go with the K&N SRI. It cost about 250-300 but I installed it myself pretty easily so you can definitely save money on installation costs.
