why do you want a manu?? (GINOBLI!!!! JK INSIDE JOKE) but i think it will cost around 1500k. not worth it unless you plan on getting more than 300hp with a forced induction kit.

Dont see why it would cost 1500k or 1500 bucks for that matter. But yeah, run a search. I saw it when I did the search.

well i know a store that will do it for 1k. but i' leaving some room for error.

p.s i like the fact some people make new topics of the old topics. gives this place some freshness. newbies will eventually find out about search. so lets be nice and answer their questions. then tell them about search. but all the post here have been anti flame. due to the fact you answerd and then told him to search is the respectful thing to do.which you guys did. so were all cool

Since this subject hasn't been discussed in at least a year (that I know of), it probably won't show on a search unless the person changes the settings to look for posts since the beginning of creation (ok so the paramaters don't word it exactly like that, but you get the point), so I'm leaving this one to be searchable.

The last concensus was that it is not worth it. Although the transmission itself is not very expensive, you will also need the stick and linkage, pedals, some drivetrain parts that don't come with the transmission, and an ECU for a manual. That more than doubles the cost of parts right there. And then there's labor. 1500 seems like a low estimate if you ask me (although 1500k is way too high )

However, David (FastMitsu18) is about to attempt an auto to manual swap in his Mirage using a donor car (wrecked Mirage manual). If he ever does this project, I'll ask him to do a write-up on it in these forums. Finding a donor Lancer with a manual would be easier for you, since you will have all the necessary parts included, and could probably pick up a wrecked Lancer for under 2k, and even sell the remaining parts to recover some of your costs!

If you all want a write-up on auto to manual from a Mirage, I can probably get that.

I have not done it personally (as I just bought a manual) but I know there are tons of people who did this swap already.

Just let me know.
