How much horsepower can I get out of a 4g64?
The 4g64 is a way better platform than the 4g94. Lot more potential and aftermarket support. But the question is kinda irrelevant. Making power depends on a lot of different things. Essentially, how much do you wanna spend?
The g64 has a cast iron block, as apposed to the g94's cast aluminum. In addition, the crank comes forged stock. That being said, there's a lot more potential for FI; rods from a g63 can be used as well.
Also, a g63 DOHC head swap can be done, allowing you to use the intake & exhaust manifolds as well as valvetrain from an EVO.
Take a look on club3g.. There's some members pushing really appealing numbers with this engine.

Friend of mine had a 4g64 in his dsm. Ran a 3076r and was pushing 430whp if that helps. Heard they're notorious for having head gasket issues. My friend had that problem as well. Keep an eye out for that n the best of luck!
