oh my bad, the hinge is not next to the valve, thats for the actual sri. the hinge is where the ex-airbox used to be, its only one screw and is really sturdy.

It's pretty mush more of a splash guard, rather than a heat shield.
Thanks anyway.

It's made for the SRI, so I'm not sure if it will bolt right on to the CAI. You might have to get creative. Now my question is why don't you just put the Lancer's factory splash guards back? That would work just as well or better.

To get that one in question to fit, I can give you as much as a step by step as possible.

Of course, the intake will be off. The three clips for the splash guard, screw them in so that they dont move easily (not fully in yet) and line them up such that the back is towards the hole where the intake comes through. Stick the intake in the splash shield. At this point, the edge of the intake (the end that fits into the pipe) should be touching the three clips. Line up the clips flush and tighten then in position. Slip the clamp over the clips which are now fluch against the intake. Slide the pipe in the intake and tighten the clamp.

bada bing bada bang bada boom.... lemme know if i confused you.
