intake for auto lancer

i have an automatic lancer and when i first got it their weren't any intakes out for it... so what we did is that me made a custom short-ram for it... i was wondering if i should maybe upgrade the intake now... i wanted a cold air but was unsure of whether or not they have one for the auto lancer... i also stumbled upon the K&N Typhoon short ram intake and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about it... basically i'm just wodnering what would be the best intake for my auto lancer... thanks
chris

You still can't put a CAI on an auto, but some people are relocating the battery or getting a small racing battery to make room for one. But please run a search, this and the headers question have been discussed frequently.

part of the problem with running the CAI is the location of the transmission on the auto lancers. I have one as well, and the CAI won't work without going through custom piping and battery relocation and a mess of annoyances. I got the RMR short ram Intake with heatshield and its awesome. sounds good, increased hp a little bit, as well as gas mileage. if you're not a fan of the RMR, check out the RRM.

Most of the auto Miragers have invested into a "Home Depot" style CAI, that works for them.

I dont know myself, since i have a manual tranny.

I say don't waste your money on a SRI. Just go down to your local car parts shop and buy a MAS adapter and an air filter. It's cheaper by like a hundred bucks and it has the same results.

I am waiting for my Injen SRI and I plan to make a custom hole in the heat shield for the stock intake to stii bring air in from the front and I'm supposed to be getting the EVO VII TechSport Kit from Dimantha at Accolade after I move and that hood will have the more airflow going straight into the SRI! If you want to relocate the battey though you still can, but I just chose not to. You can ask all you want, but ultimately it is up to you what you want to do because you drive your car, not us. Good luck and keep us posted as to what you decide on, aight! Peace!!

I recently saw an RMR short ram going for $100 on the forum. I'd highly suggest it because it has a functional heat shield and it also makes use of the stock air dam.

I've actually got a short ram intake from INJEN for an auto lancer, and that thing is awesome. It's also very easy to install as well.
