question about NOS
Sure, set it up to spray cold nitrous on the filter or the radiator. That's about the only way that your engine will survive it, cuz if you spray it into the engine, Lancer will DIE!
To the best of my knowledge, absolutely nothing. There is no way to add 80 hp for so little money. Although if you upgrade the pistons and get NOS, that will be close to $1000, and your engine may survive. Dunno if the stock rods are OK with nitrous or not.

if i recall, boeturbolancer has blown his engine twice on NOS so far, so he went RRM turbo and is pushing fantastic ##'s from it.
there have been a new people who have blown the lancer engines with NOS. Upgrading your internals would be the only safe way to do it, but still with that, your running a risk. build the engine and try. Let us know how it works. Keep in mind however, that when/if you blow the engine, it will cost much more than a thousand bucks to replace it.

yea there was a discussion last night how the block on the 4g94 is just a bored out 1.8 or 1.6 liter mirage, therefore the walls are thinner posing a more dangerous risk if you do run nos. one way to do it, not necessarily bulletproof, is to build internals and run 100 octane to reduce possible detonation. i dunno im no expert i just keep my eyes open on this stuff.

No such thing as 200 hp under $1000, you either have to pay for the turbo up front, or the new engine after NOS. Either way, you're talking a few thousands. But only one way lets you keep the engine and the 200 hp.

True, but Rob knew he had a spare engine in the garage and was willing to spend the few thousand to rebuild the engine if that happened. As a matter of fact, I believe he said he was going to break 12.5 seconds if it cost him a motor! The difference is someone willing to spend the money on development and the weekend warrior who needs to drive to work/school the next day.
