MAF sensor question
Hi All,
I have a question about the maf sensor,
I saw a test being done a car to see if the maf sensor works or not.
If you plug the plug from the maf sensor the cars engine should shut down, if the engine doesn't shutdown, then the maf sensor is not good?
Does this test work also on a mitsubishi lancer with cvt transmission?
Thank you in advance

Not really sure, I know they don't like to be to far from the intake. I put a aem cold air on my 2008 GTS and it gave me a check eng light. and if I came off the interstate to a off ramp and just pulled the car out of gear it would die. thinking it was the maf sensor I got a new one from autozone and it still did the same thing. then got a evo x aem and the maf had about 1 inch from the bottom of the tube and the car would start and die about 5 sec later. but I could unplug the maf and it ran. but it ran like crap. and I never tried to drive it with the maf like that. I just put the stock intake back on it runs fine. but I did about two weeks after that get a new maf from autozone cause it has a lifetime warranty.
