No loss at all. Only gains so far

No CEL either. I still have both cats, and both o2 sensors.
I don't plan on doing the rest of the exhaust so far. I like the power I already have, and I have no money to put toward a muffler upgrade.

I don't see why I should upgrade, especially if I like the way the car goes. I even noticed a huge, and I want to stress on huge difference a gas economy. I drive the car harder than I used to, and I waste a lot less gas. A roundtrip to my work would take a whole 1/4 thank (the last 1/4). Now I can do 1 1/2 trip on the same 1/4 tank. Wich means I gained aproximately 40% on gas economy.

edit: As for pix, I was given a crappy digicam a few weeks ago. So I'll try to make it work and post some.

Are both Kamikazee and RRM headers LEGAL? why doesnt the RRM header come with a downpipe? I hear the rrm header does not cause the check engine light to pop up. why does the Kam. header cause that? Im new to the engine scene trying to learn so help me out. thanks.

Both are not street legal in most states and both will cause a cel.

BTW, isn't the cel coming on because of a lack of o2 sensor?

How the heck do you have both cats still? I don't understand how that'd be possible since the Kamikaze replaces the first cat.

you should have both O2 sensors.. some Kamikaze's didn't have the bung for the first sensor... other's like mine did. But you need that first O2 sensor or your car will be all sorts of unhappy.

you'll get a check engine light regardless because of the lack of the first cat.

No way you can get that kind of gas mileage unless you car was mucked up before. A 40% increase for a lancer doing highway mileage would be in the neighborhood of 40 mpg... which isn't going to happen.

The DP doesnt take away the first cat - its the header itself that has like the first cat in it and does the o2 testing.

thats why when u get either the RRM or KAmikazi header u get a CEL.

as for the kamik. header comming with a DP - it doesnt really do anything, just there way of giving us something a little extra for the money we spend. RRM said they tested it and it didnt give them any gains so they werent going to produce them.

Then I definetly no longer have that first cat. My bad.

That or they were just too lazy to make the Headers fit on the stock one. Their headers and the stock down pipe don't even line up. And my gas mileage is way better than it was before I installed the headers.

have you looked into the end of your stock downpipe ever? it is smashed to almost half its normal width where it goes up the frame, its also very twisted shaped. if you ask me, going from a stock manifold with a cat and a funked up downpipe is going to perform less then the kamikaze header/downpipe combo. and for those worried about losing low end, leave your stock 2nd cat on and you will be fine as far as back pressure goes.

yes... leave your stock second cat on... DEFINITELY replace that sorry *** POS excuse for a downpipe that comes stock.... and you'll be in good shape. Kamikaze I think is taking better care of us for the buck than any of the others. Replacing the stock DP I think does matter and does help.

i know RRM said they did a dyno with there header and then there header with a new DP and there was no DIF. i dont know if this is true - but i trust RRM becasue why would they lie about that?

I mean ya, i guess they oculd be lazy and not wnated to make one, but the reason also why they didnt is because when u buy there turbo the header is lined up a certain way so it wont rub up against the radiator and those fan things ontop of the radiator b/c its offset just a little bit then curves back towards the stock DP, its wierd, i know i read about that on these forums in the forced induction section.
