Hey ROCK! New Product Idea?

For Rock, and all you Road///Race homeboys:

I was thinking about a product you might be interested in developing. For those of us using the RRM short ram intake, getting cooler air to the filter is difficult. We all know about the hood scoops, but with the risk of water ingestion, few people are really interested. Also, many would prefer not to slice into thier hoods.

How about developing a factory-style snorkel like the OEM airbox uses? You could use carbon fiber or rigid rubber compounds. Design it to fit the factory snorkel position and use it to funnel air into the filter. It'll need to be shorter than the factory unit, which is detachable from the factory airbox. I know it won't add too much in the way of air flow, but it will be pulling air from a cooler source. Hey this is just an idea, but I know I'd buy one.

Also, I see you now make a pillar pod for the Lancer. Do you plan on making one that will fit more than one guage?

Okay, now I'm rambling. Let me know what you think. And other Lancer drivers, let us know if this is something you would be interested in. Demand creates supply.

Or you could buy the RMR intake whose MAS adapter/heat shield has that small hole that the snorkel bolt onto. Effort in this case, outweighs the benefit.

Does the RMR intake come with a new snorkel, or is the filter shorter than the one included with RRMs? I noticed that installing the factory snorkel with the RRM intake is impossible because the trailing end would need to be inserted INTO the filter. This would kinda defeat the purpose of having the filter.

Although you're right, of course. I thought I might have had a good idea for once. Oh well.

Back to work.

You know what, I just answered my own question. I see how the RMR intake works now. Sorry for the bother.

You can still use your stock snorkel with our intake. Just trim it to fit. i have seen it done.
