Unhappy help??? hearing engine noise!!

i recently installed a cold air intake(upgrading from a short ram) and after i put it on and drove around a little i started to hear a high-piched noise(it almost sounds like a cricket) but constant. i have a RRM test pipe and an OBX muffler. the car performs great! but the noise im hear ain't to great im pretty sure i installed the intake correctly. if i can't get it fixed im going to take it to a garage and have it looked at. but i want to avoid that if possible(financial issuses of course ). i just hope that noise isn't being produced by something like a piston ring or any internal engine components! i didn't hear the noise when i has the short ram on, and i had it on for about a year. also when my car idles about every 4-5 minutes, about, the engine will 'bog' down like when the MAS isn't hooked up right or something, but im pretty sure it is. i thought the problem might have been the ECU was having a problem or something, because i read a thread on this site a while ago about reseting the ECU when you put the intake on. i did that, i unhooked the negative battery wire and let it sit there for about 30 minutes the hooked it back up. when i started the car, right away the RPM gauge went up to 5000 RPMs???? and the only time i hear the noise is when the car idles. any help on this would be well appreciated.

another thing of topic...my girlfriends dad was an auto mechanic and he said that he thinks that my water pump is going bad??? has any one had problems with theirs???
thanx

Noise? Could be the CAI elbow is rubbing against the master cyl line? Otherwise, somewhere along the line, a loose fitting on the CAI.

After resetting the ecu, the car has to relarn itself to the CAI. Give it about 2-3 days normal driving mileage.

Water pump? Don't usually go bad until going beyond +100K miles. Highly unlikely.
