K&N Typhoon Cold air intake for AT?
K&N Typhoon Cold air intake for AT?
I am told by a company called AMS, from www.buyams.com, that this k&n typhoon cold air intake kit has been discontinued, cost 230$ , is a cold air, and will fit into an automatic transmission... is this possibly without me moving the battery? i just dont wanna be really dissapointed because they lied to me , and the intake does not fit.
The K&N Typhoon for the Lancers is an SRI (I know because I've owned one)... it is NOT a CAI. The Evo's K&N Typhoon is a CAI (I believe).
BTW, I've been to AMS in person... they can't tell their head from their @sses

nah.. im asking info just because i might buy it... its not the evo it fits the lancer i matched the part number up right and everything.. they were wrong they said they never told me it was CAI and its really SRI.. but anyway, enough about that, is the k&n tyhpoon sri any good?
Is it good? Yeah it is... but AMS lied to you about it being discontinued. I can call up just about any speed shop and have them order it if i wanted to. The K&N Typhoon SRI is pretty good, though quite pricey. I saw a good gain in power and torque when I had it on. I also had a HUGE increase in gas mileage... im talking about a 5 mpg difference. The downside is that this intake is loud as a mother being knocked up on a 3 legged bed. Man when I had an exhaust, this intake would overpower it (in terms of sound). That may be good for you but it was a lil too loud for my taste. Im satisfied with my RMR SRI.
yeh what kareem said about k&n typhoon sri is correct lol i bought his and still have it on my at lancer. Its very loud but I like it. if you get the sri you wont be disappointed.
