I have noticed that on the Vehicle Emissions Control Information sticker on the inside of the hood says that the engine displacement is 2.4 L. Why is this? The 4g94 engine is rated at only 2.0 L. So why would they put a larger displacement if it wasnt true?

Can some one confirm this and/or tell me why this is?

maybe thats a mix up? sounds like and error, where was that sticker again?

 

Its under the left side of the hood. Go check for your self (If you have a lancer). It also confused the dealer when we were buying it. He said it was a 2.4 L, but I was pretty sure it wasnt and corrected him.

maybe it'd allow us to pass emissions with a 'less legal' exhaust because it would be tested as if it was a 2.4liter and not a 2.0 litre??

 

actaully mine says 2.0l

my car doesnt have a sticker there.... umm...is thsi only on 2004?

 

no he has a 2002..ill have to check this sticker sometime.
