"V-Tec" prob with CAI - Quick Fix!!!

Ok Ok, I was pondering today why would a CAI cause the hp and torque not to really kick in untill about 3500rpm. then it struck me its so simple. ok now i have an oz lancer and what I did was i took out the plastic cover mesh from the far left hole in the bumper, the big center hole has mesh that air can pass through but the 2 small ones are just solid plastic. I took my car for a test drive and what i noticed is that it caused the car to get ALOT more powerbelow 3500rpm. well it worked for me, maybe its gonna work for you maybe not but all i know is it worked for me!

Not to exhume a dead thread or anything, but uh...what on earth does this have to do with VTEC? Was it a joke because you felt no low end?

a lot of people say that with their CAI you feel a vtec like kich at around 3500rpm which is true...however removing the plastik thing in forn of the filter does help you get more air...but it still has a big kick at 3500..

I had the plastic out from install (it IS a step...). Still got the VTEC effect at 3500 rpm.

Seems to me like it's just a matter of the butt dyno needing some adjustment.
