If it's a short-ram then expect big change in sound, having to change the filter as soon as it gets too dirty-or using s filter cleaner- shorter travelling distance for air, small gain as in like 3HP and small lower RPM boost.

If it's a cold-air intake then expect the sound to be less monstrous as a short-ram, good quality, colder air travelling longer distance-but colder air- changing the filter-not the piping- when it gets too dirty, and same boost and HP gains.

COST:
$20-25 for filter
$20 for MAF bracket piece
$3 for 4 nuts and bolts
or
$20-25 for filter
$8 for a homemade bracket piece
$3 for 4 nuts and bolts

It's really a question of looks I'd say. But a CAI would probably be safer, and better looking, as well as more professional. Go with the SRI, but consider it temporary until you get a REAL intake.
