Exclamation Why the MAF??

I just wonder why did Mitsubishi put in a Mass Air Flow sensor? Even tho im not a Honda lover i wish the Lancer's can suck as much air as them. That sensor is one of the most restrictive part (in my opinion) in the Lancer.

There is a thread around here regarding a MAF swap. From what I read, looks like it's a pain in the butt, but kinda worth it

If you get something like the AEM EMS or Greddy E-Manage, you can hook up the pressure sensors and get rid of the MAF entirely. I'd talk to Andrew (hobie) about it, as he's the one that put the idea in my head and I've yet to buy the pressure sensor to try with my e-manage.

The MAF isn't really restrictive at all unless you're using a lot more air than stock. A lot. Even at the points most turbocharged Lancers are at, I doubt removing their MAFs would net much of a gain.
