Road Race Internals?
Road Race Internals?
I thought I read somewhere that RRM was developing forged pistons. Can ROCK perhaps confirm this?
Few following questions as well. Well, before that. Thanks.
So, I was just wondering on the estimated pricing and availability of these pistons, and if RRM plans to provide upgrades for any other internals making our turbocharging dreams come true.
Hoy, I dream on!

point 1: why does anyone want forged pistons, unless boosting?
point 2: once getting the piston, does anyone have the skill or experience to be willing to crack open the block? It's not cost effective to have some mechanic to pull the engine and just put forged pistons along with few basic bolt-ons.
point 3: will the forged pistons be at stock CR? or will it be domed to create more CR for the NA guys or a stroker kit-like? Will it be dished or lowered surface area to drop the CR. If so, how much the drop . . . to 9.0:1 or even lower?

I'm hoping they'll be made to drop CR slightly since I'm assuming they're for double digit boost applications primarily. Rob, I swear I'll have money again eventually and I WILL be turbocharged!

true, but high compression pistons should yield nice results, you will have to run the highest octane at all times but something like 12:1 would get you a decent amount of hp. But it's not sure whether they're same compression ratio or lower or higher.

maybe cuz i reallly need to redo my engine... hahha
