Buschur Exhaust System

I am interested in purchasing a Buschur exhaust System. I own a 2002 Lancer Ls and am not sure which system would fit, catback, 3", 2.5"? I appreciate any suggestions or information.

Thanks. I figured one of them wouldn't fit, I just didn;t know which one. I was hoping the 3" would fit, but oh well. Does anyone know if the 2.5" still produces a loud sound?

ummmmm.....why would you want a 3" exhaust to fit an NA lancer??? you would lose waaayyyy too much power. and 2.5 is almost pushin it, but it will do. and if youre just goin for sound, get a universal straight through muffler. you can find them on ebay.

Maybe I'm jus tconfused (sorry I;m rather new to cars), but how can you lose power from an exhaust? I thought that you gained power?

yes you will gain from an upgraded exhaust system, but 3" is just too big. you have to understand that our car puts out a low amount of power as well as exhaust. the thing that would cause you to lose power is the fact that youd have no backpressure. just do a search for "backpressure" and "scavanging". youll find A LOT of info that you should definately read.

Its a matter of where you gain the power thats important. Exhaust mods generally add to the top end of the RPM range while intake and engine mods can do either top, mid, low or sometimes all.

N/A engines need back pressure from the exhaust ports, if your exhaust it too big there wont be enough back pressure.

Your first mods should just be a CAI, Short Shifter, and 2" exhaust.

Look for exhaust reviews so you find the sound you are looking for and its not too loud.

for sure no more than 2.5inch and actually you may be happier with 2.25 or even 2 inch the 3 inch is only for turbo'd cars

I've been doing a lot of research on the Buschur exhaust system and many people complain that it is too loud. Now I am also considering the Magnaflow Catback exhaust system. Is the Buschur one loud enough to get pulled over by the cops? I want to hear a nice deep sound from my exhaust, but I don't want it to be too loud. Anyone with the magnaflow one, is it loud enough to givve you that nice sound when you rev it up? Thanks again for any input. Any videos of either of these would also be appreciated.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Magnaflow. Plus it is cheaper. I have yet to hear a Buschur so I don't know about how loud it is but you will find that most of the guys on these boards that went catback and settled on Magnaflow are quite happy with their choice. The Magnaflow has a good tone and isn't too ricey unless you put on headers, but headers will make any exhaust sound different. Also consider the Greedy.

I have the buschur racing catback exhaust with Magnaflow Muffler... its deep and i've never been pulled over for it being to loud... Also on the website David said that the Buschur Exhaust was louder than the Magnaflow but the Magnaflow was 10 - 25 more.. i don't remember exactly... after a fitment issue my is great...
THE FITMENT ISSUE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS GREAT PRODUCT OR WAS A CAUSE FROM BR... IT WAS A SHIPPING/INSTALLER DEFECT AND AFTER A LITTLE WELDING IT IS ALL BETTER NOW...

i will admit the four hour drive at roughly 3500 rpms was quite loud... but i loved every minute of that.... i still turn off the music just to hear the exhaust... and its been on my car for 8 months.

Do you have the entire system or just the exhaust part? I was thinking of getting the whole system, but then the magnaflow is cheaper. I just want it to be loud enough for me to hear a nice, deep sound, but I really don't want the cops giving me tickets for it. Thanks for your help.
