Post N/A approach

So if anyone wants to go N/A
the best thing to do is improve air flow?
and I'm guessing changing cam shaft improve fuel and air delivery? yes no?

so basic upgrades that would be needed will be what...
Cold Air Intake
larger TB
Ported Intake Manifold
P&P Head
Valve Grind
adjustable cam gears
upgraded cam shafts
upgraded valve springs
high compression piston
lightened flywheel
unorthodox pulleys
headers
highflow cat
cat back exhaust system
lowering springs to decrease drag?
and better handling
and basic lighter body panels
eg. trunk/hood/fenders/bumpers etc etc.

oh yah forgot to mention ecu upgrade
fuel rail?
fuel injectors?
Voltage Regulator System?
Ground System?

am I missing anything? or got anything wrong?
damn that sounds like a lot...
and probably would cost $$$

there has been talk on if pulley's would do anything for us, not sure if anyone ever found out. the ones for the mirage that fit our cars are the same diamater, so that wouldn't help, but someone mentioned they might be lighter.

I dont believe anyone makes a flywheel for our cars either. so there is some custom work.

depending on where you are you might want to rethink the CAI and get a SRI, seems they dont' make a power difference for our cars.

just thinking it over in my head I believe you got everything if your staying NA... and looking to spend probably 5 grand.

Cams and camshafts are the same thing. So remove that one.
Skip the pulleys. The added HP wouldn't really make a difference.
Otherwise, the list sounds good.

Get in on the order for pistons in my signature! You may get a better deal if you buy now!

Robert - I've had a CAI, an SRI, and now I'm back to CAI. It does make a difference.

it will depends on a person to person basis...being that we only have one cam, a sacrifice has to be made...top end or low end...if you wanna be fast off the line or fast at highway speeds...you can also take into account the size of the exhaust & test pipe...cus those will get you gains but mostly in the upper part of youw powerband...

redozrally - It's not all about HP. Some of us tune our cars for suspension. Some people want more low end torque to accelerate faster. Some people want more HP for better high-RPM power. It's all about how you want things set up. There's drag racing, there's autocross, there's rally, etc. Then you have to pick parts that will meet your exact need. Everyone wants something different!

true true... well I had the basic autocross track in mind
as for pipping I heard 2.5 through out is a good balance...
for suspesion I figured that, that part is a given
as in when you tune ur car to be faster
you would need to upgrade your suspension
springs. shocks/struts. tie bars. strut bars. sway bars etc etc.
nothing to do with suspension but maybe an LSD to transfer
that power effectively...
but I'm guessing with all that...
ur looking at what... 150 whp? not much for the $$$ ur paying... you think?

Get everything on your list, you could be looking at 170-180. Nobody knows, really. Everyone always does turbo. I don't know if we have a "fastest NA Lancer" title.

Skip the shocks/struts. Get coilovers. Tein, D2, JIC, etc.

PS - you forgot some type of piggyback. Maybe the one from RRM or the GReddy Emanage (or an S-AFC or EMS if you're really smart )

And the value is up to you. I'd be happier with 150 whp than I would be with 103 (average stock whp). And N/A is more dependable than turbo, so I'm happier with that too.
