What are the best brakes and rotors for '02 OZ

I'm looking to get a new set of rotors and brakes for my 2002 OZ. Not quite sure of what to get. Any ideas would help. I've been looking at RRM's slotted rotors and either the rs-4 porerfield pads or the axxis ultimate pads. Which would be better (faster stop time and longer durability)? Thanks everyone.

I have the RRM rotors and the Axxis Deluxe pads (the Ultimates weren't out then) and love them. When cold they work a little better than the stock brakes, but once they get some heat into them they're much, much better. And, no brake fade at all. It's not a very expensive upgrade, and it's definately a good one.

Our rotors are the best you can buy. There are various grades of rotors made. Rotors are made in only 2 plants in the world. These come from the same place Brembo or Stoptech actually make their rotors. As for pads, the Axxis Ultimates or Deluxe are good choices for average high performance driver. R4-S pads are good if you drive mountain roads and heat your brakes alot or if you go to the track sometimes.

Right now your Axxis Ultimate pads are out of stock. Do you know when you'll be getting some more back in. I was thinking of getting in on the Christmas sale for the rotors and getting some Ultimate pads.

I have the axxis ultimate pads and they're working great so far. I ordered RRM rotors a few days ago.

I have had the Porterfield pads on for about 25k miles now, the wear has been excellent and the stopping power is great, ZERO heat fade... and that includes 40 minute sessions on a race track in the Mohave Desert in July, 130 degrees outside, and on the stock rotors! The down sides are a LOT of brake dust and they squeal a bit when it's cold outside. If you don't want that, either of the Axxis pads have comparible stopping power, and I believe (not sure) less dust and noise. Now that I'm going back to stock and will be driving someone else's car on the track (*sniff) my next set of pads will be the Axxis Deluxe for daily driving and canyon cruising.

Well, if the Axxis Ultimate's have less dust than the Porterfields, I'd hate to see what they're like. My Ultimate's produce tons of dust (doesn't help that I have white wheels) but nothing compares to the stopping power. Only had a bit of fade one time, and that was at the end of a 30 min hardcore mountain run, found some flat road and let them cool off, not another problem.

Just to let everyone know - KVR (tuner transformation) has rotors for us too. I think they are like $90 - 95 a piece.

Want to stop like a race car then you gotta make dust like one.

Dust from worst to best.......... Porterfields, Ultimates, Deluxes.........

Exactly but at least you can clean the dust off. I haven't had any problems with cleaning the dust off my rims with car soap and water. It's just that it only takes about 20 miles to get the wheels dirty again
