exposing the turbo to road grime? what about in the north during winter? Exposing the turbo to extreme temp and salt would kill the its casting w/ cracks.

Never though the ease of stealing turbo . . . look under the car . . . lookie, a feebie!!

the company that makes these have a website, sorry i forgot it, but it has a really good animation of how it works.....BUT it seems like there is too much room for it breaking. However, be prepared to have to deal with loud annoying v8's getting them and tryin to race us.........just wait till it rains HEHEHAHAHAH

A twin turbo setup would even be a killer deal for freebie . . . what a way to de-turbo a car. The owner comes back from the mall and see an oil slick and other fluids under his car.

I often wonder if people bother reading the posts before making their own. I guess not.

See post #9.

Guess not. those Pictures kinda scare me. Definitely don't like where the filter sits. Would have to make a ram air scoop similar to the ones that were on the MR2.

PRO: If you get pulled over I doubt a cop will look ath the rear of your car for a turbo.

CON: In that link there is a truck that (iam assuming) has it. The truck is ROCK CLIMBING. I don't know if anyone here has done this but that thing wouldnt last an hour with me driving a truck over big rocks.

Why would it matter if a cop saw you have a turbo?

Well they are getting pretty stingy around where I live for modded cars. Turbos are a problem because they let exhaust gases out via the blow off valve. (its an Emmissions thing)
They also have a tendency to notifiny your insurance company about mods so when renuial time comes around they might not take you on.

Exhaust doesn't come out the BoV. It comes out the wastegate, and only if it's not plumbed back into the exhaust should it be a pollution concern. If it plumbs back in before the catalytic converter then it's more or less the same thing as normal exhaust. What comes out the BoV is compressed intake charge.

What about the amount of lag? The exhaust takes that much more longer to get to the turbo and you better have really good pressure in you exhaust system to cause it to even spin to make boost. I don't really seeing it being that great. Plus I wanna know where you plan on mounting this because it's not like we have a space under the car to put it. Unless you haven't looked under your car lately.

timdog was just asking if anyone had heard about it. Unless I missed something, I don't think he ever mentioned plans to install one on his Lancer.

hobie's exactly right. Just throwing what I thought was some new info out there, not actually planning on doing it myself. But I would be interested to see someone do it just for research purposes.
