I did a search and all i found was r32's but i was wonderin can a base lancer beat a base VW golf 4dr? My friend has been talkin a lot of trash thinkin he can take me on a drag. I'm pretty sure that those lil things are slow as crap...i mean...its not like lancers are fast or anything but they're faster than those weird looking things right? If not...i'll be lookin towards a SRI and the rrm piggyback then for help.

 

Is it the VR6 or 1.8T or TDI?

they are both base model economy cars, treat them as such.
make them look nice, make them run a bit faster, but don't think they are drag cars.

if you posted specs it would help... I don't want to go looking up the info on WV's
hp, weight, and type of tires used would really all we need to see who would win.

 

Stock vs. Stock it would be a close race and would really come down to the driver. The stock Lancer tires are pretty bad, but the Golf weighs a little more, has 5 less hp and about the same torque. This one would be up to the drivers.

 

I had a 91 Torus Wagon. It was a true grocery getter and for some odd reason, faster then the either of the cars you mentioned.

I say you sell your lancer and buy a Torus Wagon!

i dunno about golfs i guess they are suppose to be quick because i've seen a lot of modded ones, but i do know that a lancer can take a mk3 jetta gt, and a thoses vw 2dr convertible things. i've taken both in my auto with intake and exhaust.

 

well ive tryed to keep up wid my friend .. he had 2.0 golf.... and it was this model (see pic) all he had was sri intake and exhuast can..... while i same has him.... both auto well he won cause i couldnt pull the lead but it was close not more then 1 car length...
