ok heres the situation. i have an escort 8500 x50 and dont know if its working correctly. i drive by cops that seem to be radaring ppl but the unit doesnt go off. when i drive by a grocery storel, maybe like 1-200 yards away it goes off. but when i drive by the door it really goes off. i know they have built in features to stop false alarms, but if its sensing these signals then shouldnt it be sensing it further away? oh yeah and once there was a car accident on the highway so everyone had to cruise by the scene at like 5 mph. well there was a cop car there and my radar didnt go off till i was right next to him. so wat do u guys think? bad unit?

 

i used 2 have a 8500 but now i have tha solo escort and it works great! what u have 2 do is u have 2 tune your radar detector so it works tha way u want it 2 thats tha good thing about escorts! should be in your manual! but if i was u get tha solo escort works great!
