Has anyone removed spoiler center pillar?

Hey, I've done a search and nothing. I only want to hear from those who have actually seen or done this themselves. Today I tried to remove the center pillar on my OZ wing and it wouldn't come off the spoiler I felt like I was going to break something. Anyone have any advice. I didn't see any sort of connector except for these two black spider looking things inside the center pillar where it was attached to the wing. Thanks in advance for your help.

why not asking tidal the number of the shop he got it done at, so you can ask the guy that did it?

cant be removed if you want the rear break light to remain functional.

again, get your info straight before passing off info. you can reroute thr wiring through the side of the spoiler and drill a new hole underneath on of the side pillars.

My brake light is already wired through the side of the wing (came that way from dealership). Everything is set for removing the pillar, it just wont come off!

I thought Tidal said that he received the wing without the pillar. I may be wrong.

Why not? Like pgmike said, the wires are actually routed through the side pillars from stock (I know because I helped Karlen install a wing onto her LS). So please, if you have any solid information on why it can't be done, explain how and why. Otherwise, I know of a few people who have done it. It's just a matter of how much cutting and stuff you have to do.

Bump.... Anybody done this before? Like im sure it can be done pretty easily by a professional and what not im asking if this can be a DIY mod or will there be marks from the pillar or what? Obivously the third hole in the trunk would need to be filled but other than that is there any residue left on the paint where the "gasket thing" is holding the pillar onto the spoiler? Is it even painted? I really wanna do this but im skeptical about it being that I don't wanna just tear this thing off and not have what it takes to fix it... Thanks in advance

I have done this with many factory spoilers and i will be doing this to my wifes car when i get home. first you gotta look and see if there are bolts holding the middle pillar, (most likly not) and if there isnt then it is probly holding with "3M" style tape , AND little plastic clips. DO NOT try to just pull it off because together the tape and clips are very very strong!! you must use fishing line to pry the "3M" tape free and then it should be rather easy to pull the wing right off. as far as the brake light goes, all you gotta do is follow the wire to inside your trunk and cut it where you feel comfortable with it and tape it off so you can re-attach it in the future if you decide on doing so. there will be a residue from the 3M tape but all you gotta do is get it off with goo gone or something.yes it will be painted underneath. I hope this helps.
