Its def bull**** dont do it I did it a long time ago with my supercharged vr6 gti and i got all the paper work its so bull. You have to get the parts through them and its whatever they can get to get the discount. The price they give u on the stuff is way higher after the discount than u can buy normally then u have to wait to get your **** and call them up everytime its not worth it, and they wouldnt give any info on how it works untill u sent the contracts back signed. Do not do it at all total scam

I'm the second one, less money to spend is always better even if u just save
I would fall under the second category too. Nobody gives me free parts, I just get discounts, labor and shop time. But nobody has ever charged me $80 just to get the ball rolling.

AND HERES THE BULLSHIET....most of their co-sponsored companies only do honda and acura shiet...lame!! THEY DO DEAL WITH RRM THO...BUT they dont take much off anyways...they deal with VIS...a carbon trunk is $400 with sponsorship...isnt the trunk only like 450?? not that much of a discount....anywho..my mistake, learn from it.

I had the same situation, but I figured it wasn't worth it. For 1 I got a kid on the way and two they had me down for SHOW and RACE requirements. Sorry, but especially with a kid on the way, I will not race my car for anything. Show would have been fine, but my wife and I talked about it and figured that it might work, but it wasn't worth it. I didn't even get my dvd, so I say HAIL NAW!!!! I guess I got lured by the whole "You could win a SKYLINE" crap!!!! Anyway, anybody need some SCP stickers?

Don't you read everything that everyone says in the post. I stated before that last reply that there is no charge, they only charge you if you sign the contract and are not in atleast 4 shows. I completed my sponsorship this year and already informed them that i would not be renewing it, didn't get a charge when i started with them or when I left them.

gabrielg, I'm not saying that YOUR situation is bad, but I'm making a general statement. Sorry if my quoting you made it look like I was just talking about you. I'm trying to point out to everybody the differences in what different companies do, which will help them decide which ones are genuine and which are not.

Its a ripoff I did that through Racer X like 2 years ago. It was a scam and a half. I fought with them until I got my money back. Dont do it!

C'mon guys, if there's a website called carsponsors.com they want SOMETHING. Not to say they are all a scam, but as far as I am concerned, it's a scam until I fully understand what it is that keeps them ticking.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who goes about this business back @sswards and thinks he is somehow entitled to a "sponsorship" before he pays his dues and makes a noteworthy representation of his skills and talents, deserves what he gets. Getting sponsored is selling yourself. If you haven't advertised your worth yet, then don't expect to get top dollar.

Yeah, the Racer X thing was my fault, sorry again. Got caught up in the enthusiasm and led a bunch of people into that. This sounds a lot like it, just about the exact same thing. Its hard to say, they can be halfway decent if you fight for it, but its not worth the effort. I was done after a year with them and I wouldn't recommend it to somebody else. Its really more of a pyramid scheme, like Cutco...you give them money to start, and they give you stuff at discount if you're good, and they make money by having new people join and they probably take a bit off the top when they sell you parts. In turn, the sponsored people tend to bring more people to it since the car community is really pretty close, and they offer a slight cash incentive to suggest it to others. I think the mods should sticky a warning about this
