If you disconnect it properly, it won't go off. People regularly replace their wheel with the evo one, I'm sure could find a way to put a sparco or momo one on.

Well if you put on the evo wheel, you get a new airbag and if you get a sparco or momo wheel, you don't have an airbag.

the airbag is a piece of the steering wheel. you cant put it in a different steering wheel.

will it go off when you remove the wheel, yes if you don't unplug it correctly. if you unplug it before removing the wheel, it will not go off. you will then need to make a choice with your "new" steering wheel .. w/airbag or without. Evo8 or evo7 steering wheels come with an airbag (if they aren't deflated).. and you'll have a new steering wheel with a working airbag. if you get one like sparco or momo (as ambystom01 mentioned), it won't have an airbag and you'll be without an airbag.

Disconnect battery and wait 5 minutes. Dont have to worry about the airbag going off during removal
