Mitsubishi is gay
if the evo 8 clutch is the same as the evo 7's clutch, i really hope that they include it in the warranty, as I don't want to have to pay to replace it ever 5000 miles out of my own pocket.
and from what i've heard, 5000 miles would be if i drove very conservatively.

I'm confused.
Maybe in addition to learning how to drive (or investing $300 in snow tires instead of $600/year in clutches) you should learn how to replace the clutch yourself.

btw, suave3747 I'm not trying to flame you or anything I just dont see this 5,000 mile clutch change making sence in my mind at all. Seeing as my friend and I just installed the second clutch his 88 Trans Am 5.7L TPI has ever seen in the 116,000 miles it has been around the block.
Read gvr4's thread on his clutch being dead at 2k. It's not a problem with duration so much as it seems not to handle heavy loads well at all. A few launches apparently really damaged it beyond drivability.
EDIT: And I dont believe Mitsubishi or most (if any) car companies cover their clutch under warranty as it's so easily destroyed by repeated abuse.

He said he burned the clutch being stuck in ice? Don't worry, the EVO won't have that problem. AWD, baby!

Thats what we were talking about. No ice involved. Still don't know what the rpm's were on the launches.
