AHH Wtf Is THis???

So today is the first nice weekend after the winter so i decided to wash the car...
but then when im drying an area of the car i feel lil sand particles or something so i check the parts that i didn't wash yet and it feel like there are lots and lots of tiny sand particles....

is this the "rust spots" that you've all been talking about? cuz i can't seem to get rid of them... trying to polish it off but :S not exactly working....

Could be rust starting or little pieces of stuff imbedded in the paint, like road dirt. If you run into even little stuff fast enough it'll become one with your paint.

Rust usually forms on the window surrouds, which are black regardless of your car's color. It likes to start around the weather-stripping. Also, the fenders are prone to rusting quickly if chipped. The hood fares much better rust-wise, but is still a paint chip's paradise.

My sisters Galant has rough paint in random spots. Mitsu has ****ty paint I think that has been established on here before. Even if you wax it it still feels "sandy" in parts. Funny it doesn't feel that way when you buy the car, they must use something to cover it at the factory that wears off.

The rough spots in the paint cannot be attributed to "****ty" paint. This is caused by various contaminates and oxidation. Waxing is not the solution at this point, instead using clay bars and polishes (before waxing) should be implemented into your car-care regimen.

Here's a helpful link

yes casper i right those little rust spots are called rail dust i get traped in the paint, get a clay bar and polish it and it will come right out or if you have time take it to the dealer and they will(if under warranty) take them out for you, its really nothing to worry about

If you are going to clay bar it be careful I had a black integra that I did that to because it was full of overspray and I rubbed through the clearcoat in spots on the roof.
