"Well, I was invited to the Industry Preview last nite, and naturally I went to find out a bit about what Subaru & Mitsubishi had in mind for the next year or so. Here's what I found out.....
Subaru.
The stand was pretty much the same as last year. They had the usual line up, some powertrains cut apart (one from a WRX) and a couple of 'regular' WRX's. A silver wagon (which I didn't pay much attention to, so it could've been an RS. Didn't actually see it from the front.) and a WRB Sedan.
I got chatting to one of the Subaru guys on the stand and he told me that the STi WILL be here as a 2004 model year. That means we're likely to see it in 2003 (similar to our WRX's that actually appeared in 2001!) As far as he knows, we'll get it in it's current form.
Mitsubishi.
All the normal stuff, then there I spied a red Evo VII in right hand drive form.... Well, this car was offered up as a bit of a teaser, because according to the stand staff, it'll be here later THIS YEAR. The guy I spoke to is trying to get one for himself too, so I figure he's also in a position to do some digging around since he's a Mitsu employee! "

Thanks fer postin this!
I'm kinda gettin pissed at Mitsubishi....I just want to hear something officially OFFICIAL. I hate getting the run around. When a guy puts down a $500 deposit on a car that's not even coming for another year - year and half.....he generally wants to know a little bit about what's up with it....
grrrrrrr.....:soapbox:

I agree with the Subaru stand- it seemed like Deja Vu this year. What was the deal with the gold disc rotors on the Subie WRX WRC variant on the stand (is the a STI option?)...
I spent quite a bit of time staring at the Evo 7- I posted some pics of the one at the show over in the Photo Gallery section.
RE: dates, I was told ordering in fall and deliveries starting in January 03', hopefully a little sooner ;-)
