if you want a sunroof, go to a car customs shop and get a quote on a sunroof. since you live in CA, i guarentee that there are many shops near you that will be able to do it.

Trade your car in for an '03 with a sunroof. I'm sure they're about equal in value.

Custom sunroofs can certainly be good, but I think they're generally more prone to leaking...especially in the long term.

If you're feeling really brash, get a quote from the dealership to install.

It's like Hobie said - either get a new Lancer that already has one, go custom (my mom's friend DIYed it pretty nicely), or get to do it.

PS - I feel your pain. I wish I had one.

I saw at Auto Ameristar, electric sunroofs start at around $200 when I was there a few weeks ago.

I've seen total sunroof assemblies available on Ebay before...just not recently. Good luck with that though.

whatever you do....don't cut the roof. It will almost certainly leak.

u could always just go buy the headliner/roof panel/sunroof off of a wrecked oz, and replace the whole roof. just make sure u seal the front and rear window good, and it will be a factory sunroof with no leaking
