Question Why are ES wheels smaller?

Why does the ES come with 185/65-14 whees & tires when the LS and OZ come with 195/60-15 wheels & tires???

That means that the LS and OZ wheels & tires are about 3/4 of an inch taller than on the ES, but all 3 of the cars are mechanically the same?

They could have put something like 185/70-14 tires on the ES & the overall size would have been the same as the LS and OZ.

I know the ES has a differnt bolt pattern & other suspension differences, but why the smaller wheels?

I would think that there is a little bit of cost saving, but not that much.

Doesn't this effectively change the gear ratios? Making the 0-60 time faster for the ES because of the smaller wheels?

exactly...its because you pay less for the ES. But its a problem that's easily solved

same reason the OZ comes with different gauges, body kit, sway bar....

the ES, LS, and OZ are different trims. of course theres going to be differences among them. if they were all the same....that just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. why have 3 different models?

LS wheels wouldn't fit the ES. Different bolt pattern.

So what 15's did your ES come with RobertK?

It is just weird. All civic's, focus, sentras, etc. all have the same overall diameter except the Lancer.

But, I still love my Lancer! Civics are cool to drive if your name is Jennifer........hehe

What the hell are you talking about??????/

ES, LS, OZ doesn't matter. They all have exactly the same hubs and the same bolt pattern.

Actually, ES are 4x100 while LS and OZ are 4x114...so they are different.
