2002 Lancer OZ Rally
I don't know if anyone caught this, but Kaminari had a 2002 Lancer OZ Rally with a body kit on display at their booth at the 2001 SEMA show. No word from them yet on whether they plan to make a production run with it. Most companies are hesitant about the OZ still because number 1, it is brand new, and number 2, the US Lancer market is still shaky in that there are mixed reviews on the Lancer in a market full of new RSX's and Celica GT-S cars.
*Keep on top of manufacturers such as Kaminari, HKS, GReddy, Intrax, and especially BAER in emails and other corespondance to let them know you will be excited to see US Lancer parts become available. Also don't jump all over first run performance and style parts until more comes out for this car. You might find yourself dissatisfied in about a year when everyone else has higher quality parts because they waited. And lastly just relax...parts will become available, this car looks hot stock, imagine the possibilities, but don't expect to see too much until this summer, or maybe even next year's SEMA show.

Keep the pressure on!! If there's a will, there's a way!!
Happy Tuning

Well said m_allard...here's my speech from my "injen intake" thread in engine tech...glad to see someone else is forward thinking...
I'm pretty surprised that this topic didn't get as many replies/views as I would've thought it would have. Just to get a point across: All of US Lancer owners, whether they be OZ, LS, or ES need to make phone calls, emails, smoke signals, whatever, out there to the aftermarket and let our voices be heard. An email response from Injen stated "without demand, there will be no supply" as per me asking about some accesory (can't remember if it was an oil cap or spark plug cover). We get all this isht (guess what that spells) for pretending to be Evo's but that isn't true. I agree with what I've seen on these boards about how our Lancers are not what's out there and that's great. It takes a unique breed to appreciate what you have in spite of adversity. So call AEM. Heckle K&N. Email Koni. Get your wants, our wants out there and we'll have more damn parts than even the Civic/Integra crowd would know what to do with...
Wow...that was quite the speech...

I think it's stupid of manufacturers not to produce aftermarket parts for the US Lancer. It's selling really well with over 7K units in 4 months. Maybe the magazines don't like it because they try and compare it to the Evo, but sales are showing it's been very popular. It's just like the AWD GSX selling poorly while the 3G Eclipse has been selling very well.
