EVO - awd question

http://www.worldrally-online.com/en_...lution+WRC.htm

"The Lancer has never been an easy car to drive. A unique drivetrain arrangement means that it becomes a two-wheel drive car whenever it is not either braking or on full throttle, a characteristic that can make the car very unstable but also more on the limit than most."

Does this apply to the 7 as well? Can I assume this does not apply to the gravel and snow settings?

I don't know what they mean... They must mean that it feels or handles like a two-wheel drive car, because it most certainly has four wheel drive in all conditions. But it could be that the function can be switched off by some special diff but they will hardly do that I would think. Anyway, this is the WRC car which has next to nothing to do with the standard car and the transmission is I think 100% different anyway.
