One of the only things I thought of when he said that there was no resistance on his clutch was to just bleed the clutch fluid (which he described earlier). Have you tried to open both the Master and Slave at the same time to bleed it? You would then have to close both and you would also need an extra body to help you pump the clutch a few times to build pressure while you release the slave cylinder with the clutch fully depressed. I've had a clutch Master and Slave Cylinder problem before with a 300zx I had before only because it was leaking and there were major air pockets in the line.

I believe he has a defective tranny definately straight to the dealership I would go. I would guess probably a throw out bearing or something in that area.

But air in the lines is caused by other actions not dropping your clutch and stalling your car I still think it is something internal.

somethign similar ..

my bf and i was parked and we were sitting in the car talking. My car was still running so the A/C could run. Like the numb nut he is, he forced it into first gear and the car jumped forward and stalled. I was able to start up the car and it was fine. I don't understand what happened with your car.

If the car is under warranty, why wouldn't you just have it towed to the dealer? I know Mitsu dealers are not as plentiful as Ford dealers, I bought my car from a dealer 30 miles away, but if something goes wrong with a new car, I take it to the dealer, I don't mess with it myself. Thats what you have a warranty for. You should have roadside assistance, so a tow job shouldn't cost you anything.

Take it to the dealer, don't mess with anything else, you might just void the warranty .

I have done the same stupid, not paying attention thing a couple of times in various 5 spd cars ( Ford Focus, old 135k mile Acura Legend) and not messed anything up. It sounds like you had a fluke occurance of something going wrong.
