WORKS Mitsubishi Meet August 6th

WORKS is pleased to open its doors for a Mitsubishi Meet from 11am-5pm on Saturday August 6th. In addition to checking out our products and facilities, we will be offering a free BBQ. We will also be offering our shock dyno services for $50. This includes the labor and will be limited to 5 people maximum (depending on how many corners they want dynoed). So, wether it's an old-school Starion, an all new Eclipse or anything in between, feel free to drive in and enjoy the day.

WORKS is located at:
2259 Shafter Ave
San Francisco, CA 94124

Mapquest provides good directions or feel free to contact the shop for more info. Thanks!

Hey Jamie,
I got off the phone with you guys a while ago after placing the order for my clutch/flywheel kit..
Maybe let them know what you need for the "flash" that you guys are wanting to do for us 2002-2003 Lancer guys. I want one of those now!!

dam, I wish I was closer to California so I could get in for that dyno day. By me they charge like $150 bux.. gah.

Works doing flashes for lancers? Are flashes the same as say..... a rrm piggyback, where there is a set amount of tuning involved or is it specificly tuned for your mods? Not sure how a flash works?

Well.. here is what the one says for the Evo..

Our brains control our vitals. An EVO's ECU is no different. There is no single more valuable tool available to any tuner than the ability to access the car's brain and reprogram it to perform to its fullest potential -- especially after tuning parts have been integrated into the system. No piggy-back add-ons that intercept and falsify signals to the factory ECU and no standalone engine management systems compromising Mitsubishi safety functionality. The WORKS Brain Flash is the factory ECU that has been reprogrammed with WORKS Performance Software optimizing all applicable maps including the air/fuel ratios, ignition timing, and calculated rev limit. WORKS was the very first EVO tuner in the U.S. to reprogram the factory ECU. Our Software Engineers have been dissassembling U.S. EVO VIII code since April '03 and have software control unparalled in the industry. With the Brain Flash P1, expect a 20+ HP peak gain but more importantly a broad, usable, power curve with no other modifications that is very safe and reliable. In addition, expect smoother drivability and improved gas mileage. Nothing comes close to the plug-and-play performance and reliability of the WORKS Brain Flash.

The ECU can be reprogrammed back to stock if necessary and, of course, is backed by our Factory Matched Warranty.
I was asking WORKS last night about more Lancer engine upgrades when I ordered my clutch, and they said they were trying to get a hold of someones STOCK ECU so they could make this for us (need for about 2 months to make it). Thats just my "unofficial" statement I heard when I was talking with them, but if they made this mod, I'd be up for buying one the first week they came out. I'm don't want a piggyback because of all the splicing and unreliable connections/problems people encounter.

If enough people jump on board for this, which they should, we can get them to make this thing, hopefully. It would be hella easier than messing with the factory ecu wiring and all the bs. This brain flash is plug'n'play simple. Someone that can spare their ECU for about 2mo in that area of CA should go up there and talk to them.

we are talking about the basic 02-03 lancer here.. the ecu's are the same, no special key needed to "activate" it.. at least to my knowledge. When you "flash" the ecu I guess they just hook up a special set of cables to it, and unlock/rewrite the code for the settings the engine is supposed to run by, either that or replace the chip inside of it.. I'm not sure exactly how they do it for ours, but hopefully they could tell us more about it soon.

In addition to our raffle, we'll also be having on-site specials for the HFC, RTP, Croxx II and Brain Flash P2 as well as a few used items that we've managed to collect

In regards to the flash, yes we are looking for a 5-speed ECU that we can use for about a month. We've already have someone contact us and hope to bring you guys some news in the near future.
