Good news about my MPG troubles

Ok from a suggestion from someone I tried some fule injector cleaner. The first tank after I put in the fuel injector cleaner I got 24.67 MPG. The next tank I filled up and did not use anything and averaged 27.09-253.8 miles/9.368 gallons to fill up comes out to 27.09mpg. This is with doing the same kind of driving. So ive put another thing of fule injector cleaner in last night so hopefully my mpg crisis is over. Oh yea on another note ive switched over to shell gas so not sure if that had something to do with it. I used to use citgo.

Figured I would post something different then troubles with my car.

damn man you got a dirty *** engine. just take out ur spark plugs and clean inside your engine bay....

just kidding.
there's some stuff that's like a 3step thing that you put into the fuel, then some you put inside the intake that cleans out ur injectors/intake manifold/combustion area.... try that. it's like a carb cleaner, but you don't have to take apart your engine and it's safe. also clean or change your air filter... and 500 miles prior to an oil change, buy 1 quart of marvel mystery oil and that'll take a looot of stuff out of ur engine that's bad.

Yea I used some stuff like that it was prestone fuel cleaner that cleaned the fule injectors, carbureators, and intake I belive as well.

The brand I used was called prestone.

Air filter has just been cleaned a little while ago and plugs are new. Where do you get this marvel mystery oil you talk of.

If your lancer has a carbourator.....that could be why you are having issues!

you can get it at autozon.. just ask. the stuff works miracles. Jotun/Paul was working on an old mustang and when he started it it would go tat tat tat tat knock clank ding dong ting. The engine hadn't run in 3 years. He drained the oil, put in 5 qts of that stuff and let it idle for a good 2 hours. emptied the oil (which was dirty as hell) and started it up (after putting in more of course) and the engine ran lke new. it cleans the insides of your engine... i'm using it because my valves are stickind and i hear em

I am getting horrible milage in my car and it is brand new. I barely get 200 miles on a tank, which came out to like 15-16 MPG which is horrible, will this improve as the car gets broken in? With gas prices lately, This thing is gunna cost a killing to drive!

The thread you are posting is in a Lancer board. You should be running 91 ocatne or better and dependent on the mods you currently have the car will run differently MPG wise. Try searching the Evo sections of the board for more Evo specific suggestions to your problems.

Changing gas stations every once in a while is good thing... Ever did research into the "top-tier" gas stations. You'll find that certain gas stations like Shell, Exxon, and a couple others are better for our imports. Try doing a search for top-tier in Google or something and see what comes up.

Well it works well if your doing long driving but I guess for stop and go driving it was not that great. I just continued to use it cause I got good mileage when I had my truck using citgo gas.
