Got the ECU recall done, car idles high

I have a 2002 OZ. I just went and got the ECU recall for the smog done. I debated for a week if I should and caved and did it. My car used to idle about 700 rpm, now it does NOT ever go below 1000, and is usually higher, anyone else have problems?
Mitsu service says it isn't a problem.

My dealer told me the 02-03 Lancers do that, and they need to re do it with the battery disconnected or something along those lines, at least that was their excuse for not fixing mine since I got an 05. He even showed me the letter from Mitsu hq saying that, but for 02-03 only.

Unplug the battery. Wait a half-hour. Re-attach. Start car. Let it idle for 15 minutes. See if that helps. Maybe the ECU hasn't relearned the fuel curves yet?

Has nothing to do with it Doug, believe me, we have unplugged battery for hours and it still idles and rpm hangs like sh*t.

Drive it after a few miles..It should eventually settle down.

Happens to me also every time I take power off the ecu.

Also check for loose vacuum hoses.

Reply From Mitsu Service

They said it had nothing to do with the Recall. I said that is funny, it didn't do it before. Then the service manager said I needed a "DE-CARB" for $90. I then said FU.
The battery had already been disconnected by them supposedly and me. Lastnight I removed the O2 sensor and ran the car for about 1 min, I dunno why. Anyway, now it isn't doing it for what it's worth, Idle back to 700 RPM

I went in for a oil change(dang the filter went up $1.50cdn since April !) today and my dealer automatically told me about the recall/technical bulletin of the PCM reflash that concerns the catalytic converter, the recalls affects all '02-'05 Lancers. The mechanics told me that I should feel more pep with the engine at starts. My ride now idles at 850-900rpm after the reflash and I feel more pep in stop and go traffic. I asked them to show me Mitsu's technical bulletin, but they refuse and said they would have to charge me extra ...yeah w/e
