Spotted Evo VIII in So CA

After seeing the Evo VIII on a local freeway in So CA, I had to become a member and make my first post. This is one nice looking ride!

To All Future Owners:
Damn...I'm jealous. And, should I trade my '02 3.5SE Altima in for one of these bad boys?

In a word...yes.

I have a 5spd V6 Camry, and although it's not got 240 hp, it's close with 225hp (mods, of course). There is no way the platform can compete, and that includes the Altima. I've stopped upgrading the Camry and will buy an Evo in the next 8 to 12 months.

E in LA

PS: Welcome to the board

I love the EVO VIII and all, but i got to say, if you have the money, get an EVO VII instead from evolution imports.....more hp and looks better. IMHO but either way your stoked to the max, EVO VII with ralliart coilovers is the best looking car to me.

If I was you, I wouldn't trade in your fairly new car for a brand new car, reason being -- you're losing a lot of money in the process. you probably bought the 3.5 SE for what, 23 grand at least? It's now worth 15 grand, and you're going to trade it to a dealership which prob get you 14 grand in trade off at the most. Your dealership will most likely not sell at MSRP, they'd probably put 2 grand in mark up, especially in CA. So you're looking to pay at least 16 grand out of your own pocket. In my opinion, it's not worth it, why not start save up and get an Evo and keep the altima, it's not like Evo is going to stop coming to Mitsubishi is going to import more and more annually if they see the Evo flocking out of the showroom. So the conclusion is : Yes you should get the Evo, but keep the Altima too.
P.S. 3.5 SE isn't all that bad of a car, it's one of the fastest FWD cars there is.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Altima and will probably not trade it in just yet (especially after just purchasing a '03 Expedition).

But, I will seriously consider purchasing the Evo in a year or two. Like you mentioned, hopefully Mitsubishi will not stop importing the Evo to the States.

I will definitely continue to be a frequent browser of this forum.

wasnt it only gonna be like 6400 Evo's the first year or something like that ? i read it in a magazine somewhere but i think when they see em selling that # might just go up Keep your eyes open cause the dealer in tememcula started with a 5K mark up and now almost up to 10K mark up, so most Def keep yer other ride too

even though i don't live in soCal(nor any of the mayjor citys in Calif) i have yet to see a Evo other than the mags and this site...so come on...PCH is one of the most delightfull drives in our great state...expecially just north from me where the cliffs and curves get really fun.so if any of you lucky owners cruise up to the central coast give me heads up and i'll look for you as you fly past my lil beach town.and if you see my yellow OZ(so far the only one i know of on the central coast )don't just fly bye me...i'm friendly and know you can blow my doors away...give me at least a beep and a wave...i'll do the same
