Exclamation For those with a CAI or kitted with a SR

For those with a CAI when it rain or gets wet (since its near the ground) is that a problem or does that affect performance?

I have a short ram and it rained for the first time I had it in, and while I was stopped at a light or crosswalk I noticed my idle dipping and my car wanting to quit. Kinda worried me...

For those with the evo conversion and a short ram, where that second vent is on the left side of the car isn't that right above the short ram? Would there be a problem with the SR getting wet?

if you've still got a stock hood and an SRI, you won't ever see any problems. if rain WERE to get into the engine bay it would get vaporized so fast it would never make it into the SRI. i can't speak for the evo conversion, but i'm sure that issue has been addressed or there would be a number of people complaining.

I've had my cai for almost a year now and I live in chicago and never had a problem. Rain, snow or shine, it works and sounds beautiful.BTW datdjrodp, love your sig. I'm slowly on my way to a custom set up too.

the sri is a little more to the right side of the right vent if you were to be facing the car but i'm worried about water also. its getting colder out and i put the vent covers back on under my hood.

no CAI is not affected by water unless it becomes submerged in water, in which it will then hydro-lock your motor. since your car is doing that, it seems that the ecu has not learned since you did the mod.
