Rally Sweden

Hmmm, looks quite interesting, maybe there'll be an all-Finish podium
The Lancer looks better here with Paasonen in third place. So far the young geezer puts the other drivers to shame. But then again, he might be a future star and the others are just mediocre... Don't know what happened to Tommi, but something is very wrong for him.

Unhappy Tommi's retired ...

The Rally of Sweden produced its first big name retirement on SS4. Subaru's Tommi Makinen, fresh from his Monte Carlo Rally victory and breaking the world record, said goodbye to Sweden this afternoon when he was forced to retire on the 18.14kn long Fredriksberg 1 stage.

The Finn went off the road, getting snow in his Impreza's cooling system which in turn forced the car to overheat and he called it quits. It had not been the best of rallies to date for Makinen who was down the order after struggling to find grip on the roads that are covered with snow, and seeing as he was the first driver through each stage that made it even worse.

In the end justice prevailed, meaning that a Finn won

Hasn't somebody found some pics of the group N winner Daniel Carlsson? Nr. 111. Did he drove an Evo VI or VII? rally-live says VII, wrc.com says VI...
