Lighting Problem

ok, so I've had the JDM Cedia headlamps and i bought Sylvania SilverStar H1s and i've had them in since i got the lights pretty much, and today BOTH of them burned out... they both look like the filament melted
heres one of the 2 bulbs, u can see the filament in this one better than the other, the other bulb has black and silver all over the inside of it.

could it be becuase it was like 25º out?

either way im PISSED, i have no low beams now and no money cuz i bought the RRM Crank Pulley, so i have to use the highbeams and i should get my paycheck on thursday, so ill have to wait to buy new ones friday or something like that.

my last silverstars both burned out the same day too, they seem to be REALLY well matched on burn out time.

What? Are you nuts? Go to the store and just buy some cheapo headlight bulbs for now. It'll be like $5. Instead of blinding people...

Jeez. C'mon.

I never had problems with my silverstars blinding people, but they do burn out very quickly. Got the cheapo's in there now, going on 4 months. The silverstars would barely last a month

Good to hear. Driving around with the high-beams on is not a safe idea.

Silverstars only lasting a month . . ??!! what the heck did you do cover the bulb in grease before putting it in. My last set of silver stars lasted damn near a year.

My Sylvania Silverstar story--- I bought 2 (9005's) from Pepboys ($40). Very satisfied... 2 weeks later, boom filament burnt out on 1. Got ahold of Sylvania customer service and they said to send them the broken 1 and a copy of the receipt. No biggie... Not longer than a week later I got in the mail a package with 2 Sliverstars to replace. Great customer service, and I still have that set in from like March or something. Very pleased...

have any of you guys handled the bulb directly by any chance ? These bulbs get hot enough that the oil from your skin on the surface of the glass alone can blow them out.
