No Cat

Okay guys... well I have taken off my cat, and im scheduled for an oil change at mitsubishi on the 7th and well I was wondering if they are gonna say anything. Im not worried bout the warrenty really, but I was wondering if they will refuse to change my oil or anything. When I told my friend that I had taken it off he said, "you know no one will change your oil or anything now." Is there any truth to this? I just thought they wouldnt touch my exhaust... thanks for any info you guys can give me.

They probably aren't going to care. If they do say anything about not changing oil, then they are unjustified.

The only thing they care about is that you have enough money to pay for the oil change.

oil shouldn't be a problem, i think it's getting smogged. if you guys don't have smog checks, then you should be ok. california does though, so i don't know how i would get around that law if i didn't ahve a cat on here.

DUDE! Don't take your car to the dealer to get an oil change!
They are going to charge way too much, why not take it to a quick lube place or even Wal-Mart. Keep in mind that all these places use top grade oil and filters, hell, why not do it yourself, I do, just keep reciepts for records. Changing the oil is soooooooooooo easy, course I used to do it for a living.

Yeah, unless you're that desperate for an oil change, there's no reason to go to the dealership. And even if you do go, there's no reason they wouldn't service you. After all, you're paying for them to change your oil, not for them to inspect your car.

When I went in and got my first oil change they put in a quart to much and almost really messed my engine up I was down at the track and my friend said he was hearing an odd noise right after I launched and he couldnt find anything to explain it he was going through all the troublshooting problems went to check how my oil was and found an extra quart in there.
