Wrong part from Injen?

Hey all, I just got an Injen IS1830 SRI delivered to me. First thing I noticed was that there was no heat shield, so that's problem #1. Problem #2 is that the metal pipe is too long for the car! I'm thinking that they sent me a part that doesn't fit the Lancer. The vacuum hose doesn't fit into the pipe either. The bracket on the pipe does not align with the included bracket on the motor brace. I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong during installation. The EO# on the pipe is D-476-4. Is this the right pipe?

I've already sent an e-mail to the dealer, but I just want to make sure I didn't do anything wrong. Right now, I'm driving with the stock rubber pipe connected to the stock MAS connected to the Injen air filter.

Thanks for the bump SLV

Wrong intake meaning that the metal pipe IS the intake itself, right? Sorry, I don't have the terminology down (until now, I thought that the intake was the whole assembly). Thanks, Kbp. Looks like i have more waiting to do...

Here is a macro shot of the plate on the intake.

Here is what it looks like installed.

I hope this helps you.

Also, did you go through all the packing material. I thought I didn't get my heatshield until I went through every piece of packing material.

you may need to slide the gasket back further between the intake pipe and MAS. also make sure that the intake pipe is flush against the throttle body

Yeah, I made sure everything was flush with whatever it was connected to. Everything fits fine, except the intake pipe, which when flush with the throttle body, did not align with the bracket that came with the kit. I tried flipping and turning the bracket, but nothing worked.

It's weird, Kurt, our intakes are identical (except mine is the plain polished one), same EO#, but mine doesn't fit . Oh, and you have a heatshield . Yeah, I double-checked the packaging and no heatshield.

I called the dealer and they're sending me a new one, plus a heatshield. Thanks a lot, guys .
