Exclamation Help Installing Evo Interior!

Hey ALL!

I recently purchased Evolution VII Recaro seats (FRONT, and REAR) for my 2002 Lancer. Front seat installation was a piece of cake, no problems. However, I ran into a problem when I tried to swap out the Oz's rear seats, with the Evolution rear seats. I was told they were swappable, however they do not appear to be. Both mount in different spots, however I found a way to secure the UPPER REAR SEAT, just not the lower rear seat. It seems that the bracket that connects the LOWER REAR seat to the frame is bigger on the EVO seat than the Oz's. Is there a way to swap the stock Oz’s bracket, for the EVO's? Has anyone done this swap, or can provide any assistance? Thanks, I would appreciate any help I can get!

I believe the shape and size of the Lancer seats and the Evo seats should be the same. Easiest way I can think of would be either to take them to an upholstery shop and have them transfer the covers from one set to the other... or you could just buy some hogring pliers and some hogrings and do it yourself. Not too hard of an task.

The Evo's entire interior (my understanding) is Recaro. I finally installed the seats with a little troubleshooting. They fit in my interior perfect, I just had to replace the stock OZ fitting with an EVO. 5 bucks, DEF WORTH THE PRICE! Looks great, I will post pics soon.

Evo Rear Seats

Here are the pics of the seats installed, sorry there not the best, wasn't enough room to work with in the garage. Basically, I replaced the fitting from the stock oz's interior and purchased the EVO fitting for $5 bucks. The upper rear seat was a little tricky because I had to move a few brackets around so that it would easily slid into the two hanger's which hold the seats agaist the back of the car. Thanks for everyones help! .

I purchased the seats on ebay and picked them up locally here in CA. Total cost was $560.00 (EXCELLENT DEAL!) Basically the guy selling them was parting out his EVO and wanted to sell them as a pair. Thanks for the compliments!

I purchased the evo fitting from my local Mitsubishi Dealer. I would eventually like to do the door panels and arm rest but must find some locally at a good price. Right now the stock ones don't look too bad so I'm in no hurry at the moment.

I didn't have to pay for shipping because I picked them up locally here in CA. I had to drive my van to LA, which is about an hour or so away. Only additional cost was about $30-45 bucks in gas, not bad.
