Question Help on Importing the EVO VII

I got a deal for importing the EVO VII RSII for $32,000 which is a pretty damn good deal. What do I have to do when the car comes? Do I need a customs broker? What are all these regulations? Couldn't I just pay for the car and shipping and handling and just leave with the car once I get it? Need more info

Peace

Are you trying to legalize the car?

Go to this list and try to find a registered importer near you.
Look for one with business interest 2,3, and 10.
They will be able to give you all the details and cost.

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/RiHT0108.htm

If you want to read all the rules go to http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import

In general it takes at least 30-60 days once your car arrives to go through all the paperwork. If you are getting it race only, you will want to try and get the permanent waiver. Otherwise the car has to be destroyed in a year.

If you want to try and make it street legal, that is a whole new can of worms, but those same people on that list are the only people who could do that.

Give them a call and let us all know how it goes!!!

RI's usually only specialize in certain vehicles, none of them do evos.

It's hopeless, forget it, unless you wanna spend 40-45k for one.

Wait for the U.S. EVO-I'm guessing 4th quarter 2002 under 30k.

I was told that when they bring the EVO VII here it was gonna be degraded. Why won't a registered importer do evo's? By the way, once the evo comes here what trim levels will it have. Will it be like the RSII or like the GSR? The guy that i am planning on buying my lancer is just asking for 32000. Thats not bad, the only thing is, i need someone who will import it for me because i don't know how to. Is there anyone who has imported a car that can walk me through the import process?

Peace

Listen, you cannot have a street legal EVO unless you buy one from a registered importer who specializes in importing them. The price is 40-45k and these companies haven't even finished all the DOT and EPA testing.

Have some patients like everyone else and wait 1 year to see what Mitsu will offer us. I think you will be happy you did.

The way i look at it Twinpnoy84 is that. You are going to spend more than the $32K plus OCEANFREIGHT RATE, Terminal Handling Charges, Docs Fee, Brokerage, Export Declaration Processing, Certificate of Origin, I.C.C.O. , Arrastre/Wharfage, Loading Expenses, Lashing Expenses, Cartage, ANCAR Clearance, etc. IN SHORT... A lot of paper work and money.

Come to think with it you are going to drive a RHD and not LHD...

If you really want cheaper than that kinda deal ask someone from your home country to make you one - especially when you have banawe and everything in there... you know what i mean by this.... since everything there is cheap....

just my 2 cents....

RIDE ON...
