replaced the coils. 1 and 4 are out. Joe said there is no need to test compression. we are thinking the ECU fried. i pulled these codes the other night:

P0141 - o2 heater circuit malfunction (bank1 sensor 2) ...my downstream o2 sensor was eliminated 2 yrs back

P0138 - o2 sensor circuit high volts (bank 1 sensor 2) ....same deal, down stream.

P0300 - random/multiple cylinder misfire

if anybody in the area with a 5 spd would be willing to swing by and swap ECU's for a minute to see if that is a viable solution i will take you out for dinner . only other problem we can figure out is a posibility that the wire to the 2nd ignition coil might be bad. my buddy Rob has the tools to check continuity....maybe we'll hit that up tomorrow. for now, i am off to work.

thank you for all the kind words and generous offers. you guys are like a second home

Could it be the lack of the 2nd O2 sensor that caused this? Hopefully its just the ECU, maybe now you have an excuse to buy the AEM EMS.

Sorry to hear this...

The first NA blow I've heard of. I've got mostly highway miles on mine so I doubt it blew from just those trips. I drove to Oklahoma and back to florida in one month.

I don't see how your ecu have gotten fried, unless loose wiring or connection that grounded out. OR one of the caps on the ecu just leaked . . . I had that on my Talon, and it wouldn't boost beyond 2200 rpm.

same here, the page wouldn't load up.

trust me, you have squating rights on president

i've got my fingers crossed on the ECU being fried or that there is a short in the wire harness that connects coil pack 2 up to the ECU....otherwise, i'm out of ideas.

just a shot in the dark--> does anybody have an extra ECU laying around for a 5spd? Ebay only has auto's for sale. if anybody has one or knows of somebody willing to let an extra go; please let me know. in the mean time i have plans with Rob to check the continuity on the hot, ground, and neutrals that feed into coil pack 1 (from between the fuse box and the ignition coil 'clip') on thursday. i'm still praying that it is the ECU.

for now, i have a english paper to write so i pass this semester...it's due in aproximately....7 hours from now and i haven't started the title page..or anything for that matter

thanks,

mark
