Kelly Blue Book is not always reliable. They always give you the absolute highest price of the vehicle, but it is not the market value. If you go online to look up used cars, some numbers may be close to the Blue Book value, but others are much lower usually to keep competition. And I went to trade in my car a few months ago and the dealerships in Staten Island didn't use Kelly Blue Book, they used another measure that had my car at a value of only $3500 and thats when I had 40K on my car.

I am going to the body shop in a few hours, hopefully he has a quote for me. Thanks for the supprt everyone.

Turns out the shop that originally took my car after the accident is fraudulent. Their quote of $4500 without rims and tires was way out of the ball part. Turns out that there is a lot of damage to my car, but it only $2500 as compared to $5500 after rims and tires. I had the car towed to a shop I use more frequently and he gave me the quote of $2500. Sorry guys, so no part out, but at least I get to keep my car . . .

If your frame is bent then that's bad news. If someone does a carfax they should be able to see that kind of damage. I would never ever buy a car with a bent frame, even if it was supposedly fixed.

I don't plan on getting a lot of money for the car, but selling my car was never even mentioned in this thread, if anything I would have taken the totaled value of the vehicle through insurance if it was sufficient. I don;t plan on selling my car until I am out of college anyway so I have it for another 2 years, and by then the depreciated value of the car will be extremely low anyway. The car will be ready this week and I will post results of the shop's work on my car, but I will have some parts for sale (17" rims, and my system), so I will start a new thread in a couple of days. Thanks again everyone . . .

trash it and buy a bike. r6 is hot, fast, get you good mpg! haha take the last part lightly but on a serious note, i'd trash it if you can afford to get a new vehicle with the same payments.

My car is modified a little, which can be seen in my registry, but I am unsure what course of action to take.

Is it worth it to fix my car, watch my insurance sky rocket, or trash it and buy a new vehicle?
i used to have that same problem with your's before now i got to pay my cheapest for years $210 full coverage thats the lowest i could find at http://www.oneshopinsurance.com just got lucky to see insurance companies price, issue that has come up with insurance is that they will price you a quote and everything will go thru at a great rate. THEN they will ask for proof of prior insurance and look up your record etc, then 2 months later your rates will go up.
I found all this out trying to get good rates.

Thanks a lot for the information. I will be taking pictures of some parts I am selling off my car in a week or two, just have to get my digital camera fixed. I will have a set of Exel Radius Gunmetal Rims 17" with Hankook HRII tires with 5K miles on them for sale. Just a heads up, but thanks a lot for everything guys. I'll post pics of the car too.
